Hi,

So, the other night, I did a rambly post asking for help...and I promised pimping as a thank you (what a strange sentence.)*

Here we go.

I should point out that not everyone listed here asked me to mention them...and on a sleepy Saturday afternoon, camped on the couch and recovering from a stupid root canal (ow, ow, ow...yuck...and owwww), I'm probably going to forget some people who did ask, as well as some who didn't and...

Well, let's just say that I guarantee that I'm going to end up editing this list a million times. If you were forgotten, you need to smack me.

For now...my pimping looks like this, in absolutely no particular order:

1) fenmere does an excellent comic called Harmless Free Radicals. It can be found here, at his studio homepage. This guy is seriously cool; he's funny, he's very talented, and he's been a good friend to me and Von since we joined LiveJournal almost three years ago. Really...friend this guy and follow his comic. You'll thank me.

2) sarahcoyne is a wonderful artist...she does the most charming drawings I've seen in a long time. Why I don't own any of her artwork yet is beyond me. She's also one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting in person in...well, a very long time. She agreed to let me tag along to a Pogues concert in NYC with her and her boyfriend a few years back, she hiked around San Fran and ate Mexican food with me and Von, and she has put up with my silly comments on her LJ for a long time now. She also deeply loved her wonderful orange cat, Scruffy, and went to the ends of the earth for him...and for that alone, even if she hadn't been undeniably kind to me over one thing and another...for that alone she gets a mention. I wish she lived here so I could hang out with her! Go! BUY THINGS!

3) ed_dirt does a very funny (and sometimes politically incorrect and sometimes just plain silly and sometimes tongue-in-cheek) comic called Edible Dirt, which he updates on his LJ by saying things like "New Dirt is up!", which makes me laugh every damn time...I've no idea why. I'm guessing it's along the lines of "small things amuse small minds." Go. Read him. You'll thank me.

4) fuzzy_queen! Thank you! I just saw your post! And thank you, thank you, thank you! Just...awesome. Considering what you've been through this year, your mention on your LJ...well, it means a lot. Thank you. And also...thank you. I owe you a drink. Just not potcheen. *grins* (She also has a store...go! Go now! It's here!)

5) poisonrational...one of the few people on LJ I've actually been lucky enough to meet. And she's a sweetheart...a talented, friendly, sweetheart. How do you beat that? She's right here! Go! Look! Give her love!

6) slwatson didn't ask me to pimp her but...well, check out her art! She's awesome. I really have to follow her work a little more carefully...because she's awesome. I already said that? Tough! Check it out, I say! It's right here!

7) kaolinfire has been a constant friend to Von and I for a few years now...I'm not sure what we did to deserve it but I'm very glad to know him. He does an off-beat and captivating magazine called the Greatest Common Denominator; GUD for short. It's right here! He has also offered to do a the road to god knows... quiz....which is just awesome. Stay tuned! (And for the love of god, give him money if you have it to spare! Read the magazine! Tell him I sent you!)

8) amanda_eliza is a ray of sunshine. I can't remember who found who but she's funny and friendly...and, well, talented with fabric and in a totally different way than anyone else on my friends list. She makes cloth pads. No, really, she does...and they're beautiful works of art! What a strange thing to type, eh? Don't believe me, go and see 'em here! (And if anyone reading this is skeeved out about pad talk, they can just...well, hush.)

9) bobbo_y_bobbo's wife has a wonderful Etsy shop...I keep meaning to buy one of her little robots. Beyond adorable. And bobbo_y_bobbo has been a long standing friend of ours here on LiveJournal...sometimes I forget how lucky we are. Very lucky. Wait, why are you still here? Go! Go to Etsy!

10) I really sat up and noticed ericfmyers when he put out a call for help, offering to draw anything folks wanted (with a banjo!) to raise some money. I already knew I liked him and his family from his LJ but I liked him even more when I got his banjo drawing. And here's why...



He's a really nice guy...definitely one of the good ones. And a good artist to boot. What more is there to say?

11) commanderteddog likes the Frantics and Prisoner of Gravity. What more do I need to say!? Go and see proof! She's wonderful...even when she has her own stuff to deal with, she's still found the time to be friendly with crazy people from Ottawa...she's been a good friend, even just by LJ, and she's been yet another of the supports that's gotten us through the rough times.

12) savageknight has been in our lives since...well, a few years back anyways. He is a nice guy. No, I know I'm saying that a lot but...really, he and his wife are genuinely nice people. Among the nicest, even. They had a rough year themselves (I'm so glad things are going well now!) and yet savageknight still somehow found time to be there for Von and I...he's featured Von's work in issues of his 'zine, he's replied here with ideas and help, and he's just one of the good 'uns. And he's a writer...a good writer. And I owe him feedback on a book that he has in print! But don't wait on me...bookmark this page and check back often.

13) mattbayne is a fellow GirlAatic artist and, well, what can I say but...why aren't you reading his comic? Dear god, do I have to do everything for you? Go, read, bookmark...and read!

14) dragonluk is another of the LJ folks I'm pleased to say I've actually met...she's a wonderful artist, a smiley and wonderful person, and I wear one of her pins on my knapsack to this day! A real class act. Why don't you know who she is? Dear god, I really do have to do everything for you, don't you! Go here. NOW!

15) And last (for now...until I edit) but absolutely not least...ldragoon. You'd have to go a long ways to find a more friendly, artistic, and ethical person...champion of human and animal rights, wonderful artist, and all round nice gal, she is! Why do you not know who she is?? Dear god, why not!? Go! Look at her stuff/A>! Friend her! Tell her I sent you and it was with huge praise! Please!

16) And my first edit goes to...angrylemur, who has been consistently nice to us and who was also kind enough to mention Von...and who's hinted at some big news to come. Stay tuned!

17) averynovelidea (who has been more help and more fun than I can even express), thebookpile, gollumgollum, catsarah, tease_me_girl, grain_damaged, ku_zu_no_ha, baronessmartha, thebitterguy, and glych don't seem to have anything I can pimp right now but...they're all such nice people. Really. You should go and tell them that. Cuz it's true.

18) Oh oh oh and nykki! How could I forget nykki!?

19) And medusaowl, too! (I'll update this when I'm less sleepy to include a link to her website, too!)

Oh sweet gawd...that took a long time. And I'm sure I've missed people. And wow do I feel I know a lot of awesome people!

I think I earned a drink...I started this post at 3pm and just edited it to post at 6:40pm. And I'm sure it'll be edited a few times in the next few hours...

*eyes painkillers...opens a bottle of wine*
